Dinner On A Dollar is a tax exempt 501c3 organization.
Once groceries are donated through the assistance of food banks, Dinner On A Dollar helps individuals create low cost meals to optimize the food received. DOD is one of the few agencies that attempts to fill the gap between food banks and what ends up on the table. These organizations usually welcome more help so if you can volunteer a few hours, contact your local food bank.

Since most of their food is donated, much from huge companies like Con Agra, Feeding America's primary costs are spent on food storage and delivery.
